In the early 1970's Rod wrote a book called Fields Of Wonder.............
A copy sits in front of me. Rod took a year off before he wrote this book. He was
sick of deadlines,and other peoples clocks and needs. He began it in London, then continued it in Mexico.
Wasn't finished until he was back in California.
Rod said,"Fields Of Wonder is not a collection,but a single thought.
More and more I think that most of us have only one or two things to say.
This is an amplification of what I'll say next time around."
GAMES
When we tagged through trees
or raced the ridges
you'd never let me be
the first one there.
I have no complaints.
I play to win
even when I know
the battle's hopeless.
